Cat6 Ethernet Cabling

CAT6 is the 6th generation of twisted pair Ethernet cabling, also known as Category 6. It is a cable standard defined by the Electronic Industries Association and Telecommunications Industry Association (commonly known as EIA/TIA).

CAT6 cable contains four pairs of copper wire and unlike CAT5 and CAT5e, it uses all four twisted pairs. CAT6 supports Gigabit (1000 Mbps) Ethernet communications at more than twice the speed of CAT5e.

Twisted pair cable like CAT6 comes in two main varieties; solid and stranded. Solid CAT6 cable supports longer runs and works best in fixed wiring configurations like office buildings. Stranded CAT6 cable, on the other hand, is more pliable and better suited for shorter distances or movable cabling such as "patch" leads.

According to technical experts, the use of CAT6 cables will supersede CAT5e cables in the near future. The fact that CAT6 link and channel requirements are backward compatible to CAT5e makes it very easy for consumers to select a CAT6 solution for all future upgrades and networks.

Enhance your viewing experience with HDMI

The High-Definition Multi-Media Interface (HDMI) is an industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface. HDMI provides an interface between any compatible digital audio/video source, such as a set-top box, DVD player, and A/V receiver and a compatible digital audio and/or video monitor, such as a digital television (DTV)

HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports 8-channel digital audio, with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and requirements.

Type A HDMI is backwards-compatible with the single-link Digital Video Interface (DVI) used on computer monitors and graphics cards. This means that a DVI source can drive an HDMI monitor, or vice versa, by means of a suitable adapter or cable, but the audio and remote control features of HDMI will be unavailable.

HDMI is a modern replacement for older analog standards such as RF - coaxial cable, composite video, S-Video, SCART, component video and VGA, and the consumer electronics replacement for older digital standards such as DVI (DVI-D & DVI-I). In the computer world, HDMI is already found on many peripherals and a few newer video cards, with adoption rapidly increasing.

Protect your data - Protect your future!

An inexpensive way to prevent unscheduled downtime or data loss due to power problems is with a UPS or Uninterruptible Power Supply. However, a UPS by itself is not enough for proper operation. Hardware, software, and configuration together make up a UPS system that will recover from unexpected power loss or power fluctuations that can damage systems and peripherals.

When considering data loss, system downtime and disaster recovery, backup methods are primarily discussed. There are many methods of preventing data loss, including clustering, backup, security and power conditioning. Proper power can prevent an initial disaster from ever occurring. Providing proper power can be in the form of an

A UPS has rechargeable batteries to supply emergency power in the event of immediate power loss. If the power loss is longer than the batteries can supply, then the UPS can signal the server to initiate a power down sequence to properly shutdown, preventing data loss. When power is returned the server can return to operation after having made a clean shutdown.

Other power related problems that occur can be minimized with the circuitry of a UPS. Voltage sags and spikes, brown outs and line noise (from other machinery like elevators, air conditioners or office equipment), can all be isolated by a UPS. These power related fluctuations can wreak havoc on systems and devices. For a relatively low cost a UPS can prevent downtime due to power anomalies.

HDMI Version 1.4 Specifications

HDMI has grown into a very reliable and popular channel for high-definition digital connectivity. It is being adopted by most major consumer electronics and PC manufacturers worldwide.

HDMI High Speed with Ethernet, also known as HDMI version 1.4 offers some additional benefits as given below:

  • HDMI Ethernet Channel: A data channel will be added to the HDMI cable that will enable high-speed bi-directional communication between connected devices. Users will be able to send and receive data via 100 Mb/sec Ethernet. The HDMI Ethernet Channel (HEC) will allow an internet enabled HDMI device to share its internet connection with other HDMI devices without the need for a separate Ethernet cable.
  • Audio Return Channel: Reduces the number of cables required to deliver audio upstream for processing and playback.
  • Improved Resolution Support: The new version supports Ultra 4K resolution of 4,096x2,160 at 24Hz and 3,840x2,160 at up to 30Hz.
  • Improved Colours: HDMI-enabled display devices will be capable of reproducing more accurate life-like colours when connected to a digital still camera.
  • Micro HDMI Connector: It is a 19-pin connector which is almost 50% smaller than the size of Mini HDMI connector. There would be new HDMI cables available in the market so as to take advantage of the HEC.

HDMI is available in the following four types:

The Power of the Dark Side

A long time ago, in a factory far, far away... Probably China.

Anyway... how cool is this? A Piggy Back power extension cable that plugs into the wall and has the facility to connect another into the same socket. There are many benefits of using this type of application when you are setting up you work station, but the one that comes to mind first is the "neat & tidy" aspect.

Cables can be the most infuriating things if they are just left lying on the floor or desk, creeping closer to where you work, and if you do nothing about them, your work station can become quite disorganised.

Featuring a LED in the middle female socket that lights up when there is connectivity, this extension lead is perfect when you are in a different room so you don't have to walk backwards and forwards to check if the power point has been turned on. All Dueltek Piggy Back power cables are available in lengths of 2, 4, 6 and 10 Metres.

NOTE: These cables work similar to a double adaptor, they do not create a new power outlet. Please ensure that you don't overload your power outlet by exceeding its limits.
